My story
My introduction to the world of creating in ceramic arts was early in my college years. I attended a class focusing on hand built ceramics. I loved the experience of working with this medium and, to my surprise, one of my pieces was selected to be displayed in the college museum. Quite an honor!
However, my intended career path allowed me only this brief experience. My path was determined for an art, yes, but it was to be the art of healing. I had a wonderful career caring for individuals as a Registered Nurse and then ultimately as a Nurse Practitioner. I have many wonderful memories of those years.
When I retired from this very rewarding career I wanted to return to an area to express my creativity and artistic abilities and so my re-entry into the world of ceramics began. I hope that you enjoy exploring my work! If you choose to make one of my creations yours, I hope that you will cherish it as much as I have cherished the experience in making it.
My work comprises both wheel thrown and hand built one of a kind items from functional pieces to works meant for display. I utilize a variety of finishing techniques to create my vision. I love playing with texture in my work as well as having fun with the color and pattern possibilities of glazes.
